License Management feature enables MSP admin user to manage license subscriptions and assignment of licenses to users.
A license is required for a user to be able to login to MSP. Admin user is required to have MANAGE LICENSE PERMISSION role to execute license related operations.
License Subscription Management
Administration -> License Management -> “License Adjustments” section (top right section in above screenshot) can be used to either subscribe or unsubscribe licenses.
Enter the number of licenses that needs to be adjusted and click “Subscribe” or “Unsubscribe” button.
In the case of unsubscribing, the resulting number of licenses must be greater than the sum of minimum allowed licenses (this is set at system provisioning) and the number of licenses assigned to users.
User License Assignment
After licenses are subscribed, they can then be assigned to users. Only user with assigned license would be able to login to MSP. License can also be un-assigned from a user, which makes it available for assignment to another user. There are different ways to manage license assignment to users.
From Administration -> License Management, click the “Assign License” button (see screenshot below).
This will show the users with their license status. Filter and search are available at top right of the window, to limit the number of users being shown. You can assign license to individual user by changing the Assign License field to “Yes”, or select “No” to remove the license assignment.
To change assignment for multiple users, select the users and click “Toggle Subscription” button. Click “Update” to save the changes.
From Administration -> User Management -> Users tab, list of users will be shown (see screenshot below).
You can change Assign License field to “Yes” or “No” directly in this list for individual user.
