In the manufacturing world, technical specifications consist of data sheets and drawings. Having a simple tabular view of the material configuration while compiling it, gives the user the most natural way of looking at the summary of the configuration. Need to copy & paste? Simply copy the configuration and paste it into email, or other documents…
Benefits
- Give a fast overview of data, in a different view
- Clean tabular overview of the configured options
- Cross-check the configuration summarized like a read-only data sheet
Features
- Switch configuration UI to a read-only mode
- Specification view gives a better summary of selected options in one scrollable printer friendly view.
Specification View
The Technical Specification View allows to display a configurable line-item in a data sheet alike view and parse quickly the values that have been configured already. For non-configurable line-items, such as product variants (in our notion classified products) the products will be shown by default in this view.
The content is represented in a text-based manner without any additional data that would prevent a fast copy paste for sending via mail and a quick check with the customer or other team members.
In order to consume the feature the user simply needs to click on the toolbar button representing the two views.
Exemplary Use of Data Sheet Switcher for a configurable product
The side panel product variant finder lists dynamically the matching variants correlating with the configuration.
Configuration & Set Up
There is no configuration set up required. However, the admin and a user do get the option to hide or show this control within a user profile.
