MX has a robust pricing engine to empower customers to always have the latest and correct cost and pricing information. Discounting, manual pricing and costing are common quoting practice. However, this does not hold true for all products and product categories. Products might not be discountable, manual price input might be forbidden, or the price might be computed based on the products bill-of-material for solutions and projects. There are numerous special cases where a user should not be able to add manual price inputs.
As of today, MX not only has the capability to customize the UI display in terms of hiding or disabling cost and price columns in the line item table based on customers’ business needs, but also to control this behavior on product level and line item level.

It is possible to easily define a global, system-wide behavior as per below, for instance to determine that a regular product is discountable and does not allow to override the list price.

On product level, the setting can be tweaked, for instance to allow manual list price input on a product for special requests or services. On the other hand, we can disallow discounts for solution products, which list price is computed by its components.

MX also allows to perform mass updates for the settings applying to multiple products.
