MX users can enable/disable whole column in Quote’s Sales Item view by UI profile. This allows the customization to control whether MX users can input value, either discount or price, on that column. However, customization cannot control on the product level. For example, user can enter all columns for some products whereas some of the columns cannot be inputted for other products. “Enable/Disable Line item cells” feature allows MX user to control each column as per product specific. Currently 7 attributes are supported on product to control the corresponding sales item attributes.

The following screen shot shows the usage of price settings on attributes. Absolute value is disabled for the first product “803”. Discount is disabled for second product “T-VPP00” and custom calculation 1 and custom calculation 2 are disabled for third product “Assembly”.
Some of the attributes related to price are set as calculated. The values of these attributes are coming by calculation and user input is not allowed. For this scenario, MX can detect whether the attribute is calculated or not. If it is calculated, the controlled attribute is shown as disabled. As per below screen shot, 3 read only setting attributes are disabled as these attributes are not allowed to enter manually from user. This feature can be controlled by customization.
To streamline the setting of product specific attributes, MX provides mass update of these price setting attributes as well.
MX user can define global or system level product setting. These settings will be copied to the product at the creation time if SettingProductSystemPreference is enabled. The following screen shows where to set the product specific read only attributes on global/system level.
