A Sales Phase defines how an organization closes a deal, starting from lead creation and progressing through various phases, all the way to closing an opportunity. This helps to establish a common sales methodology to be followed by all sales representatives, every time a customer opportunity is worked on ensuring consistency and quality in the entire process chain.
Under ‘Administration’ → ‘Master Data Management’ → ‘Sales Document Source’, administrators can configure the respective Sales Phases as shown per below figure:
Note: “SalesPhase1” is dedicated to Lead while “SalesPhase2’ defines the start of opportunity. Converting a Lead to opportunity is as simple as switching the sales phase from 1 to 2. Refer to 'Leads' for more information.
The position field in the sales phase helps you define the sequence, in which these are printed in the pipeline view. This can be configured on the detail view of the respective Sales Phase:
