Introduction
New Question Sets can be created via Excel upload to support a quick way of creating Question Sets. The Question Sets created via Excel upload do not support all functions and features compared to creating the Question Sets via the UI (refer to section “Question Set Management Via UI” for additional details).
New Question Sets can be created through Excel Upload. Note that this is a simplified process that only supports the creation of a specific type of basic Question Set. It does not encompass everything that can be created or specified through the UI. The user(s) needs to have a role with admin permission to perform this.
Downloading the Excel Template
You can download the excel template here that will be used in this process:
Uploading the Excel Template
The downloaded file will have two tabs: Structure and Localization. The Question Set's structure can be specified in the Structure tab. For each row, you need to define the chain of questions, answers, and each of the corresponding Product Tag, Product ERP IDs, or both. It represents the questions and answers that the user will see, select, which Question Set they are in, and what products they will get as a result:
By default, four pairs of questions and answers are included in the template. If you need less than four pairs, you can leave them empty for the remaining columns. If you need more, additional column pairs can be added, following the same naming convention for the column headers (e.g., Question 5 and Answer 5, Question 6 and Answer 6, etc.).
Multiple Question Sets can be defined within the same Excel file. Within a Question Set, all questions that have the same name will be created as a single question, and it will have all the answers for that question from the various rows. On the other hand, answers with the same name will only be created as a single Answer only if they have the same parent question.
In the Localization tab, the labels and comments for the objects defined in the Structure tab can be set. For each row, the name of the object, and the language code should be specified. This will then be applied to all objects having that name from the Structure tab. For example, if many answers have the same name, it only must be specified here once, and it will be applied to all of them:
Uploading Images using Excel upload
With 2208 release upgrade, you can also upload the images via excel. this will help you to setup everything in test and use same files in production reducing the over all implementation cut-over time.
This involves the following steps
Step 1: Create a Temp folder. In the Digital Sales Platform, go to 'Administration' > 'Content Management' > 'Create new folder'
Step 2: Upload the zip file into the newly created 'temp' folder which can include sub-folders:
Step 3: In excel on the 'Image' tab (new in 2208), define the Zip File Name similar to the ones uploaded in the previous step. Then, map the image path with the image name including an extension to the Question set, question, or answer.
Note: The file path is case-sensitive and starts based on the zip file created.
Once the Excel file has been populated with the appropriate data, it can be uploaded to the system. In the Guided Selling Management screen, the upload button triggers a file selection dialog:
Once the upload has been validated, the created Question Set(s) will appear in the list. All newly created Question Sets will have an inactive status and need to be manually activated.
After testing guided selling, you can delete the 'temp' folder. This is an optional step but recommended to save space in document share.
