SAP Cloud Connector
The SAP Cloud Connector is also known as the SCC and it is a free software made available by SAP to help connect accounts in SAP Cloud Platform to backend SAP ERP systems. The Cloud Connector is a standalone application that runs on a separate host in the customer Virtual Private Network (VPN). It provides a secure tunnel connection between the SAP CP account to the SAP backend system (ERP). For more information about this please visit the following site:

SAP Cloud Platform Setup using the SAP Cloud Connector
Once the cloud connector installation is completed, the SAP Cloud platform account details need to be registered inside it. After performing this set up, the cloud connector will internally create a tunnel connection with the target SAP Cloud Platform account as shown below:
Next, we can start to create a Remote Function Call (RFC) destination. This can be done either on the account level or on the application level. Note that all account level destinations are available to all its applications but not the other way around. We recommend creating application-level destinations so that the applications can connect to QA or PROD ERP systems as needed.
Destinations in the SAP Cloud Connectors can be seen in the figure below:
