While you can use In Mind Cloud Digital Sales Platform (DSP) as a standalone, you can also integrate it with SAP ERP and leverage data mastered in SAP ERP. DSP has been certified for built on SAP Business Technology Platform using SAP Extension Suite via the SAP integration scenario ES-EXT 1.0 (updated: 5 July 2021).
Users can bring a variety of data points from SAP ERP into DSP. These data points include Materials, Material Classification data, Characteristics, Classes, Unit of Measures, Sales Texts, Material Substitution Data, Accounts etc.
The integration is built on a standard SAP BAPI for information exchange and supported on the SAP Cloud platform by Connectivity Service. More on this in the SAP ERP Integration Set Up section.
The integration is bidirectional. DSP not only consumes data from ERP but also creates data. Creations include Sales Quotes and Sales Orders. For Made-To-Order processes, DSP creates materials and its Bill of Material to be put into ERP. In addition to this, the integration supports custom features where a few examples are: credit limit check, custom field selection, etc.
From a process point of view, the SAP ERP integration covers everything from consuming master data and synchronizing products, to simulating sales order pricing and creating sales orders.
As a general flow to build up a sales process in DSP, the following can be visualized:
The figure below shows the breakdown of various components touched in the DSP-SAP Integration:
